A little more on Divinity..
Divinity is a Dreamless with not a lot of time left. Manifested from a dark mind, his belief in her grew so powerful, that she now exists, even past death. His faith allowed her to manifest, but only partially. In order to become physical, and be able to survive, she must find a way to attach herself to this plane.
Excluding her detrimental situation, Divinity is a peculiar person. Her mannerisms are quiet, and serene. She finds great fascination in the world around her, and harbors curiosity that could kill several cats. She appreciates food, the sun, the small things, and it's not uncommon for her to take delight in something ordinary. Her humor can be a bit off at times, and she doesn't have the world's greatest understanding of tact. In addition, Divinity's views on the world around her can make her just a tad bit of a sociopath, as Divinity has never been able to develop a deep connection with anyone other then her creator. And like any child of a madman, it has left her a bit.. off in several aspects of her personality.
Divinity is a character that can be played as a terrifying villian, a damsel in distress, the ambigious companion on an adventure, or a creature that exists to teach a lesson. Her growth prospers best when she is alongside someone in a story, and exists to help move stuff along.
Her strengths include illusions, telepathy, dream walking, weaving, and manipulating. Her physical form is akin to that of a windy wisp or ghost. She seems to be well knowledgeable in the fields of astrology, astronomy, philosophy, and psychology, (Though, anything really fascinates her). However, being a Dreamless, Divinity is also unfortunately affected by these same things as well. Illusions are very real to her. Strong forms of telekinesis can scatter her existence. The Dream World is her world, so naturally any magics would effect her in this realm, in addition, Divinity is also a creature that is funded by faith, belief, and emotion. Her biggest weakness.. is being forgotten.
All and all, she's a field day to play with, and I'd love to see what you all come with here at RP-Rep!
What is a dreamless?
A dreamless is a person born from the mind of another person. Normally, in a dream. The first documented references of this were found in the caves of our ancestors. A legendary one that people often overlook, is the goddess Athens, who was born from the skull of her father. Many people consider them as 'imaginary friends' as more often then not, they normally don't make it far enough to grow personalities, and sentience. However, when a person becomes transfixed on something, someone, long enough, you would be amazed of what the mind is capable of creating. And that, is how dreamless are created.
Dreamless are found in the land of dreams. A land that constantly shifts due to the input of thought and faith from the other world. This is why you may find thoughts and faces in your dream that you had never seen before. Because you didn't dream them, someone else did, and your dreams are mixing! The manipulation of such phenomenon is a lost art to many. But it is in this realm that the Dreamless survive, powered by the thoughts of their creator.
Depending on the person who had 'dreamed them', the Dreamless may adopt the traits of their parent, so to speak. A particularly happy-go-lucky person, will find their companion also just as happy in nature. They are much prone to changes in personality then your average person. And some Dreamless as a result of thought flow, can turn into nightmares for their parents very quickly. Again, dreamless are a fickle subject, and since it's very rare to have the opportunity to speak with one, it can deviate from person to person.
Dreamless survive on faith and belief. Once the 'parent' realizes this, subconscious or not, how they manage that is beyond them. They may take up the magics of dreams and set up the perfect world for it. They may write their legacies down in books, so that others may 'dream' of them. They may try to end the Dreamless's life by 'forgetting' them, as without faith, belief, and emotion, the Dreamless will die. Or they may stir drama in the world around them and allow the Dreamless to eat that emotion through their minds.
A dreamless can survive without the original creator. And sometimes, they manage to successfully manifest to the human realm. When this phenomenon happens, they become the embodiment of the wishes that they had carried. They become Djinn. Giver of wishes.
The Rules for Divinity
1. No stalkers. No creepers. No drama. Divinity =/= me. Divinity is her own entity, and I will play her as such. If you are the type of person to take things personal, I am not the RPer for you.
2. Sex, violence, and language are okay, in moderation, and taste. If you are coming here for smut or intend to write a 400-word f-bomb, this is not the character for that.
3. Please do not take the art for Divinity. I actually made that, and you will be full of suck if you do.
4. Refer to the RP Guidelines for my yes/nos. And by all means, do talk to me. I am a pretty nice person and am listening to hear all stories out at least once.
